Valentine's Day in Our House

Valentine's Day is not a big day in our house.  If you read my post from yesterday, I'm used to it being a birthday of all things!

So...what was our first Valentine's as husband and wife like???

Well, honestly--I couldn't wait to call it a night.  I had one of the worst nights of sleep in a long time Sunday night...maybe it was because I was anxious about our new matress set being delivered the next day?!

A bed to fit Justin!  Now we can redecorate the room :-)

There was definately no candle-light dinner last night.  Especially considering this is what our table looks like right now...
One of the clawfeet decided to separate from the pedestal...so we're trying our hand at furniture repair.  We'll see how it goes!

In fact, our  traditional Valentine's Day meal isn't the most  romantic...

It started when all the restaurants we could afford on our first Valentine's Day were full...and now it's the perfect fit for us!

On top of that, I was not in the greatest of moods last night...who knew that when I picked out Justin's card almost 2 weeks ago, it'd be an extremely accurate portrayal of me by the time I got home!

Front of the card...

But the inside of the card definately sums up my beliefs regarding the commercialism of Valentine's Day...

However, the icing on the our first Valentine's-Day-Together-as-Mr & Mrs cake was a Wildcat win over KU.  I think we were all in awe but thank God our boys decided to show up last night and play like they're capable of!  And they won by 16--yes, 16--points!
